The purpose of the sessions today is to explore the issues raised from the morning session yesterday and how the implementation and project management techniques featured yesterday afternoon can be used to bring about real and sustainable change in a range of specific aspects relating to the operations of universities. The issues raised in the buzz groups on the previous day will be used as issues or examples, which will be explored in detail in three stands which will run through the day:
Strand A. putting project management into practice.
Strand B. achieving change through implementing strategic plans and with stakeholders: internal and external aspects.
Strand C. Developing Human Capital and Modernising Pedagogy, Implementing Technological Solutions, and Developing Social and Cultural Responsibility.

Each strand will include a mixture of input and smaller group discussion to ensure its relevance to the local context.

Participants will be encouraged to raise issues which they are encountering and to note findings or possible approaches which they can adopt on their return - thereby learning from both the presenters and fellow group members and enabling this conference to have an impact in their local situation.

Participants are advised to follow one strand throughout the day but may switch if there are issues which are particularly relevant to their situation. If more than one person is attending from each university it is recommended that each follows a different strand and that the learning is shared on return to the institution.

After the panel session, participants are encouraged to explore the possibilities and challenges of adopting similar approaches in their universities and start the development of action plans. There will be an opportunity to share the most challenging issues at the end of the session.
